SECRET POP SIDECHAIN TRICK 🤫

🎤 This is how to get your vocals to pop out without anyone realising


You'll normally find the main lead vocal in the mono section of a mix

So what you want to do is separate the vocal off onto a bus...

Put all the other instruments onto another bus...

Then take an m/s compressor and put that on the instrument bus

And then sidechain the mid channel to the vocal.


So what this does is, every time the vocal plays, it pushes the track down a slight bit, leaving a pocket for the vocal to sit on top of.

This allows for a more perceived louder mix and the vocal will sit nicely on top
