I Take On Kabaddi, The Warrior Sport And Singapore's Migrant Workers | On The Red Dot | Full Episode

What happens when an Olympian takes on an ancient warrior sport? Diver Jonathan Chan finds out, when he jumps into Kabaddi, a playground game turned international sport.

Part-tag, part-dodge ball, and 100% physical, Kabaddi is a sport with a long lineage and rich cultural traditions. Jonathan meets the newly minted Singapore Kabaddi team, as they gear up to represent the nation at the 2022 Asian Games. They teach him the in-and-outs of Kabaddi, as he prepares to face off against some of the top players in the country.

Along the way, he learns about the struggles facing the team, including the inability to train in a close contact sport due to COVID restrictions. As match day draws closer, Jonathan discovers how Kabaddi is a bridge between the locals and Singapore’s migrant worker population.
