that can be used to shape curricula, to design instructional materials and to guide instruction in the classroom and other settings"-Bruce Joyce and Marsha Weil

A large number of models of teaching were
developed from different sources like;
classroom situations, research in psychology and training, therapists, theorists etc

Most prominent instructional strategies was developed by Bruce Joyce and Marsha Weil

These teaching models were classified into
4 basic families based on the nature,
distinctive characteristics and effect of the models
1. Information processing Family
2. Personal Family
3. Social interaction Family
4. Behaviour modification Family
