It's kicking off in South Wales! The Merthyr Rising of 1831

The Merthyr Rising of 1831 was a remarkable event when Welsh iron workers - angry at declining working conditions and their lack of political representation - decided to take the law into their own hands. Incredibly, they controlled the town of Merthyr for several days before the authorities were able to fight back and seek retribution - which resulted in the martyrdom of 'Dic Penderyn'.
