Better Than Bush's Baked Beans #2 | Small Batch No Canning Recipe

My version of Bush's Baked Beans, no canning small batch recipe. So good and totally worth the effort.

1 lb. dried beans (I used Navy) or 4 cans of beans
2 c. tomato juice
1 c. tomato sauce
1 c. your favorite ketchup, BBQ sauce or tomato jam (   • Small Batch Tomato Herb Jam | Grown-U...  )
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. molasses
1 T. liquid smoke
1 T. Apple cider vinegar
1 t. each onion powder, garlic powder and dry mustard
1 t. salt
1 T. black pepper
6 strips of thick cut bacon, fat rendered

Soak beans overnight or use quick soak method. Drain and cover with fresh water and simmer ~1 1/2 hours. Drain and add to 9x13" baking dish.

Add all sauce ingredients to a saucepan and bring to a simmer to dissolve brown sugar. Pour over beans and add bacon.

Bake covered @ 325* for about 2 hours or until beans are desired texture. Uncover and bake additional ~15 minutes.
