Construction innovation hub (ISCF Transforming Construction)

The Construction Innovation Hub has received £72 million of government funding through the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund for Transforming Construction, to drive innovation and technological advances for the construction industry. This includes developing and commercialising digital and new manufacturing technologies.

The funding will help to modernise the construction industry and create more efficiencies in order to meet national building targets for homes, schools, and hospitals.

Government predicts England will require an additional 210,000 houses per year between 2014 and 2039. This volume of new houses is not currently being met. The hub will commercialise more efficient ways of making houses, which will allow industry to meet this demand.
