Cempaka Putih is a sub-district in Central Jakarta, DKI Jakarta, Indonesia. This sub-district is the result of the expansion of Senen sub-district."[3][4]
Cempaka Putih sub-district used to be part of Senen sub-district, then it was divided in 1969 into two separate sub-districts, namely Cempaka Putih sub-district and Senen sub-district. Initially, Cempaka Putih sub-district consisted of seven villages, namely Cempaka Putih Timur, Cempaka Putih Barat, Galur, Tanah Tinggi, Kampung Rawa, Johar Baru, and Rawasari. In 1993, Galur, Tanah Tinggi, Kampung Rawa, and Johar Baru sub-districts were divided into Johar Baru sub-district[5].
Kelurahan Cempaka Putih Barat was the first area to be developed in Kecamatan Cempaka Putih. In 1952, 30 hectares of land in Rawasari was allocated for housing, an area roughly equal to the current Kelurahan Cempaka Putih Barat.[6] In 1960, residential areas began to appear, roughly coinciding with the development of the Tanah Tinggi residential area.[7]

Senen sub-district is located in Central Jakarta City, DKI Jakarta, Indonesia. This sub-district is named after Pasar Senen. In this sub-district is located Pasar Senen Station. Planet Senen (which includes Pasar Senen, Senen Station, Senen Youth Center, and Grand Cinema) is a gathering place for artists known as Seniman Senen.
The history of Senen begins with the opening of Senen Market by Yustinus Vinck in 1733. In addition to Senen Market, Vinck also opened Tanah Abang Market. Two years later he connected the two markets with a road, now called Jl. Prapatan and Jl. Kebon Sirih which was also the first east-west link in present-day Central Jakarta. After independence until 1975, Senen was the leading center of commerce in Jakarta. In 1974, the Malari tragedy destroyed Pasar Senen. Students at the time were angry at Indonesia's economic policy of dependence on Japan. And Pasar Senen was a symbol of the sale of Japanese products.

Jalan Lieutenant General Suprapto is the name of one of Jakarta's main roads. The road is named after one of the heroes of the Indonesian revolution, Lieutenant General Suprapto.[1] This road connects Senen, Johar Baru, Cempaka Putih, and Kemayoran. This road stretches along 3.9 km from Senen, Senen, Central Jakarta to Sumur Batu, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. This road is passed by Transjakarta bus corridor 2 and non BRT corridor 14.
