Creating Characters for a TPRS Story with Beginning 7th Grade Students

In this video we are creating characters for a story. These 7th grade students are beginners and have only had two months of Spanish. I give input by asking questions, reviewing the story, and taking ideas from students. In addition, I make language comprehensible by writing words on the board with English translations and by asking permission to speak English. Students know when to answer as a class, raise their hand, and when to do movements for the structures used in the story. The movements are also mini brain breaks embedded throughout the lesson. The props, students actors, pictures of actors from the previous day, and ideas from the class make this story creation process compelling for students.
