De Slag om Maastricht (1940)

Tijdens de Duitse inval in Nederland zou de stad Maastricht, gelegen in de zuidelijke provincie Limburg, worden ingenomen door de Duitse legers. Nederlandse verdedigers moesten de bruggen over de Maas opblazen die de stad verdeelden. De Duitsers wilden de bruggen onbeschadigd in handen krijgen.
