[PSO2:NGS] (

I was taking a break from NGS and playing Starfield, but I decided to log on to do some solo runs of Solus before I went to bed and got this nice time.

Could it be faster? Absolutely. Will I reroll it again? Probably not :p I think this quest is too rng dependent for me to truly enjoy speed running it. Whenever I do solo, I only do about 5 runs on a given day and take at least a couple days of break because I get too upset with the scam in some parts xD

But let me talk a bit about this run...

P1 is as standard as it can be. The only annoying rng in it is when pods spawn and when they break. The time it takes for a pod to break relies on your crits and how DF's attacks line up. Ideally you don't want multiple attacks (like the red square and a hand attack) to happen at the exact same time or else you are missing one counter. I don't worry too much about the rng tho and only pay attention to the dps meter to ensure I'm above 5k whenever the special down happens. I also prefer to have a slight delay in the pod spawn/breaks so my special down doesn't happen before 11:00 on the timer or else I risk not having PB in time for break.

I did a pretty good job in this video's p1 until the special down. The attack before the special down was a laser and my first two step counters were not critical, so I gambled overkilling shoulder with a rage but my third step ended up being a critical and breaking the shoulder resulting in my rage missing him completely. As a result, I had no pp going into the special down, and I was too mad to stay focused on my rotation lol Then, the break happens and I had HORRIBLE luck with my PB rolls: only 3 out of 11 hits were critical! At that point, I was considering resetting, but my ODF was a crit and I decided to keep going despite being a bit mentally defeated, which ended up causing me to not play as well for the rest of the run. For example, I completely zoned out and didn't pay attention to the hp bar when he moved on to the DPS check causing me to lose 2 hits of my last WA WA there. Ideally you do a step counter there instead :x

Now moving on to p2... the rng was decent enough but nothing too spectacular. For instance, I had 3 walls, one pillar and a couple consecutive time waster moves. The worst was my first ODF having a horrible damage roll and my next pb only getting 4/11 crits with some low rolls. Once I again I entered the "I should restart" mindset because ODF and PBing low rolling in p2 means I added a lot more down factor than I added damage, which can cause my break to happen at the very end of p2 and being wasted without a PB or ODF. But I kept going just as a "warmup run" lol I made two significant mistakes which I can't blame the boss for tho....

Mistake 1: for the pillar move, I knew I was going to get my OD out of cooldown before I ran out of focus, but for some stupid reason I did a jump and got caught in landing animation lock and missed the skill activation!!!!!!! I really can't forgive myself for this :(

Mistake 2: due to having to start the OD from mistake 1 late, I didn't synch my next PB with ODF, and ended up PBing before I activated OD x_x I needed to gamble the PB there though because I didn't know if I was going to get a good opportunity for PB + OD later, and causing extra time waster moves.

Luckily the moveset and other rolls were somewhat decent so I didn't proc the break before the 3x3 pod section started, and at that point I knew the run was going to be sub 14 because of how much time I had left and knowing the break was going to happen at the start of the head phase. I just needed to stay focused and keep going...

But then that p3 start happened LMAO I hate the stupid lock in this game. I panicked when the lock made me step counter towards the middle pod and I could never successfully lock back onto the front pod. I missed one counter and a rage which cost me around 5s or more just in that section. I was just screaming and shaking so hard but I was able to take a deep breath in and resume xD

For this last section, you just have to keep track of your damage so you don't whiff stuff. Also it's important to avoid overkilling pods, since the pods there don't contribute to falz's hp unlike the pods in p1. Even though there is a bit of rng cuz of the moveset, the routine there is pretty standard.
