Disclaimer: I didn't notice and the cursor was in the middle of the run the entire time (I use controller :p). I will NOT run it again just to have a video without it xD

General Strat:

Id requires knowing the flow of the fight well to manage the different forms to do good dmg. His dragon scourge can pierce around 7 times on average depending on angle and how big the target is. So for this run, I follow very specific sequences to ensure I will maximize the number of scourges I use.

I begin the fight switching to dragon form right away, so I am ready to do one dragon scourge after the first link attack. When using it, it's very important that you stay in front of him or slightly to his right (our left) or else you will get fewer pierces. Unlocking helps you have better control over your position. You know you are on pace if he flies with around 82%-81% hp left. You can unlock and move further to his back while transforming to god might to ensure the full transformation hits him, but unfortunately, I can't do too well: if he flies at 80%, you will have to grief the run on purpose or the first dps check will happen too soon and I won't have the dragon form ready for sba later.

Once he comes from the first flight, I ignore the purple pool and prefire an unbound, dodge the shockwave into a scourge before I go into the god might combo finisher. That's my most consistent sequence to ensure I will get a link attack. However, it's very important that I don't use the link attack right away so I can gain a bit of gauge from a lunge combo. Having another skill ready after the link attack ensures that I will get back into dragon form before he flies away during overdrive. I went with an uncharged Fourfold Vengeance for two reasons: it's quick dealing good dmg (tho not capped so you pray for a decent roll) and it's a useful prefire for human form as you can see later in the run. You really need a quick skill or else you won't be able to finish your combo and gain enough dragon gauge.

At this point you can have between 61%-65% hp left depending on your rolls and whether you whiffed stuff. Normally, I would prefire a dragon reginleiv as Versa is coming from the ground, but I chose not to because I didn't want to pass the 60% threshold before he finished that armored phase. This prevents him from going into the dps check right away. At that point, I ensure that I have 3 bars in my gauge. This is so my link attack after a dragon scourge will proc the god might phase. This part is now funny: I just waste my god might to ensure I will have the dragon form later. I swear it was planned xD

I use the dps check to build the dragon form and then the rest is pretty rehearsed. Versa will go into a flying attack right after the break phase, and it is always the same: he flies up, summons slow balls and comes down. I hate this phase and you can get horrible moveset rng with the balls being in the way. To cancel all that BS, I use my sba as he comes down.

An average sba roll is around 1.61m. My roll was kinda meh at around 1.58m. Btw you might be wondering how it's still so high: I have tons of attack sigils + linked together to ensure my sba dmg is as high as possible. The attack sigils also ensure that my flurry combo hits are all capped. Usually, those sigils are a waste in group runs but in solo against a boss that has so much time being away, I don't need to go too hardcore on cooldowns or SBA regen. I prefer to give consistence to my dmg.

The rest of the fight is the worst rng in the quest. He can do many attacks to ruin the run. In this particular run he went to the far back and did laser. I wanted to cry. I hate it. The only good thing is I got lucky with a link attack so I could finish my god might combo and set myself up to go back into dragon form for the last dps check.

In a good run you only have two moves after the SBA. If you get 3, you will prolly lose a sub 4. To get only 2 moves, you need to reach the 10% threshold by the end of the second move when he enters overdrive again. You also have to get lucky to be able to set up the dragon form for the final stretch.

At this point I have my ragnarok skill back if needed but I might need to kill myself to be able to use it; for example, if I happened to be in dragon form with an already used dragon scourge during the second attack, then I pray he is doing stuff that allows me to kill myself xD In a way, the bad rng from the far away laser move allowed me to not need to kill myself so I guess the run looks better to those who think hitless is better. Usually for the sake of getting good times, I prefer to get hit.

Could the run be faster?

Absolutely! I think 3:4x or even 3:3x are not that crazy. I could also be overlooking some better form management. I'm pretty proud with this run tho, and I wanna move on to different quests.
