Alicante Food Tour, Old Town & Castle

We are still exploring Alicante, Spain and this week we try food and wine from the Alicante region, explore Old Town Alicante and visit one of the Castles that offers amazing views of Alicante. Alicante is not just a city, but also a province in Spain. So the region has its own gastronomy and wines and we set out on a food tour that highlights the food and wine of the region. We have been loving the wine & tapas scene in Spain, but wanted to make sure that we tasted those that are specific to Alicante and we are so glad that we did!! We also take you through the charming Old Town neighbourhood of Santa Cruz, which is only accessible on foot and is nestled at the base of the mountain that is home to Santa Barbara Castle. We then hike up to the castle and take you inside the grounds to see some some very cool old remains and incredible views of Alicante, surrounding mountains, and of course the beautiful Mediterranean Sea!
