Steven Taylor | Bend and Break

Tribute to Steven Taylor, who is, if I'm being completely honest with myself, probably my all-time favorite companion. I've always loved his story, starting as a man marooned and alone, no longer accustomed to dealing with other people, and then getting to be free and find healing in the friends around him. Even as the universe constantly throws more pain and suffering his way (as evidenced by how I wasn't wanting for clips of these instances despite the fact that more than half of his footage is missing!), he is always able to rise up and out of it and still bring himself to smile. It's amazing the man is even standing after so many of the things he's been through as well as witnessed, yet he just channels that grief into protecting the people around him. His emotional depth and strength of character through hardships have always appealed to me, and honestly he's just darn entertaining to watch, and these days, listen to on audio (I own more of his audios than of any other companion and I can't tell you how many times I've found myself with a dumb smile on my face while listening to them because I just enjoy this character so much). Steven is such a well-written character and so perfectly portrayed by Peter Purves; there are scenes that make me wish I could go back in time and give him awards! Barring that I guess I'll just keep making videos lol. :P
