2024 Outback Day 12 - Muloorina to Mungerannie

First I thoroughly enjoyed the sunrise and birds awakening at Muloorina, South Australia.
Cleaned the air filters to improve our fuel economy.
This was our first time driving up the Birdsville Track! From Muloorina Station (just south of Lake Eyre) to Mungerannie (half way up the Birdsville Track).
We were so lucky that it had just reopened the day before (20th May). It was probably smoother than usual as it had just been graded. People had been stuck at Mungerannie for 5 days.
We topped up our fuel at Marree and had a lovely soak in the warm artesian pool at Clayton Station.

Got there at 1230hrs. Flies pretty bad. So glad we have fly nets!
We then camped at the wetlands of Mungerannie. Wonderful camp oven roast lamb dinner by the fire after canned red wine in the pub.
