Tomato Saar is deliciously tangy and soupy curry that you can make for a quick meal. My mom would prepare this often back home, we all loved it! I have no idea on the whereabouts of this dish and I won't be surprised if it's called something else somewhere else.

Ingredients I used:

3 large tomatoes (they are the size of my palm) you can use 4 medium sized tomatoes


1 tbsp oil

1 tsp jeera

pinch of hing

few curry leaves, 8-10

salt to taste

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

1/2 tsp red chilli powder


Procedure:

Score the tomatoes with a sharp knife

Boil them for 8-10 mins

Blend them once they cool - you can keep the peel on, it's entirely

optional

In hot oil add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, hing and curry leaves

Pour the tomato purée and add all your masalas

Serve hot with some piping hot rice. Enjoy!
