Описание к видео Professor Versus Creative: What Are The Differences & Similarities Between Professors & Creatives.

By creatives, I mean professions like writers, artists, and designers.

You will be surprised in how similar the academic career is to creatives. What are the similarities?
Both professors and creatives have to generate new novel insights.
Creatives and professors have to develop their work through an iterative process.
Creatives and professors often work through their career building an audience.
Creatives and professors often have a lot of angst, depression, and anxiety.
You have to disregard what other people say, but at the same time listen to feedback.

What are differences between creatives and professors?
Professors often have to be evaluated by your peers, but creatives are evaluated by the market.
Professors may be employed through universities, but creatives can and often do find self-employment or contract jobs.
Professors have a teaching component, but creatives don’t have to teach.
Often the best creatives and the best professors, can do very well financially, but most don’t do that well.

David Maslach is a research professor of entrepreneurship, innovation, and business strategy, I discuss topics, such as behavioral science, strategy, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and apply these to my new peer proofreading and editing platform. Topics include the sharing economy, altruism, investing in technology, starting a business, and bounded rationality. My favorite videos pertain to incentives, goal setting, and learning from failure to drive behaviors such as weight loss, stopping telemarketers, creating novel technologies, and creating new movements.

https://r3ciprocity.com: Peer proofreading and editing platform

A new platform where you can earn credits by editing other people's documents. Use these credits to have your own work edited. If you do a good enough job, you can convert these credits to money.

The goal of the platform is to get people to 'pay it forward' and help other people out by creating incentives for people to give back.
