This is the final version of a 3-part video I made about how I ended up in Japan. It combines the first two parts into a cleaner, quicker edit with additional clips and images - PLUS bonus footage featuring Japanese Pop-Culture tv host & writer, Matt Alt.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Growing up in the 80's & 90's on a farm in Kentucky, watching Godzilla and Dragon Ball Z when I wasn't making short films with my friends, I couldn't have asked for more.

However, in 2005 my life changed forever after I moved to Japan and landed a job as a manga assistant, apprenticing under one of the greatest manga creators of all time - Tetsuo Hara.

Dragon Ball & others wouldn't exist without Hara's original shonen epic... FIST OF THE NORTH STAR.

From 2005 until 2007 I worked on multiple tankobon editions of the FOTNS prequel manga - Fist of the Blue Sky , special editions of Fist of the North Star, and other related projects directly under the supervision of Hara-sensei himself. It was truly a once in a lifetime chance.

Now, over 20 years later - I take a look back at how it all happened.
