Azimuth Circle and Relative Bearing of Ships

Описание к видео Azimuth Circle and Relative Bearing of Ships

As a A.B. Helmsman/Lookout there's only 2 things to do on the bridge. Steer the ship or stand lookout. Yes, A.B. HELMSMAN steer the ship. Not the Captain like most believe. But as a lookout you really only need 2 tools. Binoculars and an Azimuth Circle/Bearing Circle. The Bearing Circle is used to find the relative bearing of other objects in the water. I say relative to the direction on the compass your going because it's relative. Used to determine the estimation of which way another ship or object is going compared to which direction you're going. Most the time you can just look and know if something is coming at you or not. Other times you've already worked 8 hours in the day and you're on your last 4 hours of watch and might need a little extra help with your vision.
