Version 1.02 rolled out yesterday for the M2 PS4 port of Esprade.
There were a lot of changes but one of the most interesting ones was that M2 actually added a new TLB!
This might have been in response to a lot of people finding the original Alice fight quite lackluster because it was so easy.
This new TLB is anything but easy though, it's actually insanely hard. Like way, way, way harder than anything else in the game.
On top of the patterns being crazy hard, the boss also has an anti-bomb shield. It's very much a Cave TLB now.

Requirements to trigger the TLB.
- Beat the game with 2-miss or less.

When you do this it replaces the old Alice fight with this new one.
The boss herself is the same and she still has the three healthbars, but all the pattern are completely different and I'm pretty sure every phase has way more HP too.
You can kinda think of it like Hibachi and Inbachi in Saidaioujou.

In terms of score, both bosses give the same score for beating them.
So you might be wondering if it's not better for score to die three times and fight the old boss if the TLB is that crazy hard.
You'd be right if it weren't for the fact that beating the TLB DOUBLES your endgame bonus.
So yeah it's always worth more to fight the TLB even if you only have one life remaining at the end.
With this patch Arcade Plus definitely has way higher scoring potential than Arcade now.

- Phase 1
Phase 1 is by far the easiest. The hardest attack is actually the very first one. It's not too bad usually but boss movement is extremely random and erratic so sometimes you just kinda have to bomb. You want to move as far away from Alice as possible for the final wave so you have room to dodge.
After that you just have to circle a bit while avoiding huge aimed swords. A good thing to know is that your focused speed is fast enough to outrun the swords, so you don't have to dash through bullets at crazy speeds.

- Phase 2
Phase 2 is very difficult. It starts with a pretty weird pattern of aimed blue lines and aimed purple walls. You have to slip through the purple walls up high before they close up at the bottom.
In order to guarantee gaps in the walls you have to aim them directly under Alice. What makes this hard is that she moves around randomly and the blue aimed lines really restrict your movement. It's good to bomb the last wave since you also cancel the dense wall of red bullets at the end.
After that she does an attack that makes me think of Hibachi's second attack from Dodonpachi. Extremely random bullets from all directions. The blue bullets change into red ones when they hit the walls. You want to end this attack in the corners since she'll do a long streaming attack at the end.

- Phase 3
For phase 3 everything goes off the rails. By far the hardest part of the fight.
It starts with a cage pattern where Alice Clones form a circle around you and you get shot at from all directions. Alice herself also circles inside the ring while shooting aimed stuff at you. The pattern from the Alice clones is static but where they initially spawn is not. Alice can also start circling from a variety of different starting positions. After a certain point the Alice clones will start shooting blue bullets in four directions instead of the initial two. Your best bet here is trying to follow a route as best as you can while dealing with the aimed shots and other random elements. Dodge as long as you can and then bomb through the rest.
The final pattern is crazy hard. Very random and it can easily wall you.
There is a timed component to this phase. You want to do enough damage so that you beat the boss before she loops back to her first attack. This attack starts at max difficulty and it's insanely hard to dodge. It's basically the penalty pattern for not beating the boss fast enough.
The key to doing enough damage in the first attack is focusing fire on a single Alice clone and following her around. You'll still do damage to the boss if you shoot the clones.
You want some good luck with where things initially spawn so you have more time to do damage. Probably the worst RNG is if Alice starts spinning from the bottom of the screen, you want her to start on the right so you have more time to shoot the Alice clones.

Another new thing in this patch is an added ending cinematic for Alice, which you can see at the end here.

Used Alice because she does the most damage. With the endgame bonuses being this huge she might be the best for scoring in this mode now.
