After spending my first day in Iran eating my way through Tehran, I decided to do end my day with even more food! Come with me as I eat kebabs at a popular local restaurant and enjoy some shisha afterward!

This restaurant only had three people inside when Mr. Taster visited a few years ago, and now it has 73 employees because of his visit!

Mr. Taster’s face is all over the restaurant! We headed into the kitchen, where they were making bowls of kebabs. The cook poured a ton of butter over the kebabs and then added some cheese and sesame seeds.

There are photos of Mr. Taster with tons of celebrities and YouTubers all over the walls! We took the kebabs and poured them over the rice. But first we tried some olive paste with pomegranate. It was so nutty and tasty!

Then, we tried the kubideh with tomatoes, pepper, onion, and bread. It was unreal! I loved the smoky flavor of the meat and the freshness of all of the ingredients. Smashing up the tomato and adding the chilies and onions gives it a flavor similar to salsa!

Then, Mr. Taster rolled the meat, tomatoes, peppers, and onions, and made a huge sandwich! We continued with a bottle of doogh, which is a yogurt drink containing mint. It was a little sour and bitter.

Then, we dove into the kubideh with the rice, tomatoes, onions, and peppers. The mix of butter and saffron was really nice. Then, they brought us even more food! We were truly in kebab heaven!

We finished with some maast-o museer, which is a potent, garlicky yogurt. It reminded me of a lot of the garlic sauces I had in Lebanon! It was great with the crispy lavash bread. It’s a little different from the Armenian lavash!

Then, I headed upstairs to see them make the lavash. They add little holes to it and bake it. They even make one in the shape of a heart! The guys there were so kind! Then, the owner gave me a kilo of honey and honeycomb to take home with me!

We then hopped into the bus we’d be riding in for the entire trip. We took a quick break and headed to a restaurant to have some fruit, tea, and shisha while enjoying the game!

The shisha was a bit much for me at first! It had been a while since I’d smoked! While we enjoyed it, we listened to a man sing in Arabic. The restaurant was gorgeous. I loved the decor.

It was close to midnight, but we enjoyed some ghormeh sabzi and rice. It was such a tasty herbal dish with lamb. Mr. Taster kept feeding me! We also had some pure melon juice!
