A Word About Our Grandpas Feeder

Описание к видео A Word About Our Grandpas Feeder

Grandpa's Feeder are made in China, poorly designed, and dangerous. Our feeders are made in the U.S. and the Philippines so your money doesn't support genocide or the bullying of other countries. Feeders start at $36.00 with our American made medium feeder starting at $85.00

Feed the Hens, not the Rats! Feed is getting expensive and scarce in some areas so invest in a ratproof chicken feeder to keep the rodents and wild birds out of your feed. Prevents feed raking as well and keeps the feed dry under normal weather conditions. The Medium feeder is made in the U.S., the other size feeders are made in our Philippines shop, we are the only widely marketed treadle feeder that is NOT made in China. Prices start at $36.00 plus shipping of course, the feeder in the videos is either the small which costs $65.00 or the made in the U.S. medium feeder that costs $85.00 for the standard feeder.

Our feeder is unique, the only mass marketed feeder not made in China, all galvanized steel, no plastic parts that rats can chew through, an inward swinging door that is much quicker to train with, a narrow and distant feeder to prevent rodents or wild birds from ganging up on the treadle, and a spring loaded door with a heavy counterweight to prevent rodents from simply pushing the door open like happens to the competing feeders.

Feed prices are already soaring, if you are not using a ratproof chicken feeder then you are already paying for it in lost and spilled feed. Check out the reviews on our shopping cart and start saving money today!

Some people have chickens for years and not have rats, then there is the rest of us. This is the only mass marketed made in the U.S. feeder available and we do have some models made in our shop in the Philippines at a lower price point. Models start at $36.00 plus shipping, the small feeder made in the Philippines costs $65.00, and the made in the U.S. medium feeder costs $85.00 for the standard exterior model and $100.00 for the soft close door model.

We have a large feeder and an extra large feeder that holds up to 63 pounds of feed and dogs can use both the large and extra large feeders.

People use these feeders for ducks, regular size chickens, turkeys, geese, even a few rabbits are being fed with these feeders. For lighter birds you need a duck step added to the treadle and a few larger birds to operate the feeder so the little ones can eat.

We have competitors for sure but every single one is made in China including the Grandpa feeder. Even in the Philippines we use Japanese made sheet metal or locally produced sheet metal and locally made packaging and boxes. We have plenty of stock on the Philippines made small and extra large feeders, some of the Philippines made large feeders, and plenty of the least expensive option, the M.A. 2017 Philippines made treadle feeder which is only $36.00 plus shipping.

The Medium feeder is currently made in the U.S. and has been since we ran out of the medium feeders in November of 2020. However steel prices continue to surge so the next batch will likely have a price increase as the cost of steel has already tripled since October of 2020 when we started the current batch of feeders. Prices are projected to rise to five times the normal before 2022 so if you need one now is the time to buy.

We have been making these since 2012 and carry all the parts you will ever need for repair and refurbishing. Chicken feeders are harsh locations as you can see in the two year old feeders in the videos and rust eventually eats them up unless you keep them up on patio blocks and out of the corrosive ammonia in the chicken poo.

Chickens learn to use the feeders very quickly if you follow our directions. You must have some full sized birds to operate the treadle and do not use these feeders around chicks, the birds must be two to three pounds before they are heavy enough and have enough reach to use the feeder.

These feeders hold between 10 and 63 pounds of laying pellets depending upon the size and model of the feeder. They range from 12" wide to 18" wide and between 20" and 23" tall and are generally around 19" deep with the feeder and treadle. Galvanized sheet metal and hot rolled steel bar stock is used to make the feeders. No spot welding, just sheet metal screws and pop rivets and bolts. No plastic used that rats can chew through. They are not pretty feeders, they are pretty basic actually, but they work like a charm to prevent rodents and wild birds from stealing feed.
