Kedarnath temple is one of the sacred pilgrimage centre in Northern India, located on the bank of Mandakini river at an altitude of 3584 meters above sea level. The historical name of this region is "Kedar Khand". Kedarnath temple is a part of Char Dhams and Panch Kedar in Uttarakhand and one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva in India.

Kedarnath 2021 complete travel guide:

1. Basic requirements at checking point:
.Must have Yatra E-pass
.Must have fully vaccinated certification or 24 hours COVID Negative Report | 72 hours isn’t accepted|
.Uttarakhand E-pass in case entering from outside the state.

Carry all your documents in hard copy since they don’t check soft copy.

2. How to reach:
Day 1: Rishikesh/ Haridwar to Sonprayag
get all your documents checked at Sonprayag | 210 Km | 7-8 hours | Local bus | ₹300-400

You will take a stay at Sonprayag, this will cost you ₹1500 at triple occupancy with dinner.

Day 2: Sonprayag to Gaurikund |30 min. Local transport will take you at ₹30 per person.
Start your trek from Gaurikund.
Trek distance: 19km approx | Trek time: 8-9 hours |

*Tip- start your trek as early as possible and reach there by 5:30 so you can attend the evening aarti | Aarti time- 5:30 to 7:30

Day 3: Trek back to GauriKund | Trek time : 5-6 hours | Stay at Sonprayag

Day 4: Sonprayag to Rishikesh/ Haridwar
you will get an early morning 5:15 Am bus from Sonprayag
