Lionel MPC Wabash Passenger Train & Aquarium Cars

Описание к видео Lionel MPC Wabash Passenger Train & Aquarium Cars

Finally visited a great local train store Nicholas Smith (established in 1909) in nearby Broomall PA and found a pristine condition Lionel MPC (1970-1986) transition to Lionel Trains Inc (LTI) 1987-1995 Era Wabash Pacific locomotive & matching tender. Part of Lionel's fallen flags series.
The Wabash locomotive was a bridge product in the transition from MPC to LTI and was the first of the Fallen Flags, introduced in the 1986 catalog, the last catalog of the MPC era. It was the only Fallen Flag entry that was a steam engine.
The engine features the electronic sound of steam, a whistle, and magnetraction. Lionel used its classic Small Hudson boiler, but in place of the normal four-wheel rear truck, a two-wheel version was substituted, resulting in the first 4-6-2 in Lionel history. The cars are all lighted and have die cast trucks.
1986 was a rough year for Lionel, as its management bounced between Fun dimensions, Kenner-Parker Toys, and finally to Lionel Trains, Inc.
The Wabash set was caught up in the production delays that plagued Lionel throughout the mid-80s, and the set was not released until early 1987.
As soon as I got this beautiful locomotive & tender home I immediately started searching for the matching Wabash passenger coaches and luckily Trainz.com had 5 out of the 6 from the original set in new in box condition for great low prices with combined shipping and a July sale discount.
While purchasing from Trains I also spotted a 3535 Lionel Aquarium Car from 2002 (a reissue of the original 1959-1962 version) with a quieter CAN motor which is featured at the end of this weeks video.
Hope you enjoy, like, comment and subscribe!
