四海為家遇真愛 打造環保紙農莊｜加拿大 X 羅約翰｜《活力新故鄉》EP88《Home, sweet home》【ENG SUB】

羅約翰出生在加拿大，於紐西蘭成長，由於父親是海軍，至小一家人跟著四海為家，養成他隨遇而安的樂觀性格與地球村的開闊胸襟，年輕時曾在六個國家從事超過40種工作。約莫25年前來到臺灣後與老婆吳連春相識相知，婚後兩人一起開美語補習班教英文。

因為崇尚環保自然的生活，2008年夫妻倆在屏東里港郊區買了一塊農地，他們從零開始花了8個月，終於成功地在2009年打造出全臺第一個紙房屋農場，將自己的環保理念落實到他們的建築中。許多民眾慕名而來後，夫妻倆開始在農場裡辦DIY課程，教導如何製作紙磚頭及交流環保的理念，希望能喚起更多人來愛護臺灣這片土地。曾經有人問：「你喜歡臺灣嗎？」，他的回答是：「不，我不喜歡臺灣，我愛臺灣！！」

John Lo was born in Canada and grew up in New Zealand. His father was a navy, so
his family made a home wherever they were when he was little. Thus, it developed his optimistic personality to be an easy-going person and be open minded to the world. He has had 40 jobs in 6 countries when he’s young. About 25 years ago, he came to Taiwan and met his wife Wu lien Chun. They started an English cram school together for teaching English.

Since advocating for an eco-friendly life, they bought a farm land on the outskirts of Ligang in 2008. They worked on their farm from scratch and 8 months later, they finally successfully finished building the first farm with paper concrete buildings in Taiwan. They put their eco ideas into practice for their buildings. Many people come for a visit, so they have DIY short courses on the farm. They showed them the procedure of making paper concrete and held Eco shares programs. They hope to arouse more people’s attention to protect this island, Taiwan. Someone asked, “Do you like Taiwan? “He replied, “No. Instead of like it, I’m in love with Taiwan. “
