Drag hitch and axle hitch with kalmyk

Описание к видео Drag hitch and axle hitch with kalmyk

I use this to drag the pallets off the lorry... Very fast to tie and very easy to undo at both ends I have dragged over 2 tonnes with this and has the advantage of being any length you like before it is set with a hitch, this means you can throw a rope under and shorten the working length of the rope so that the fork lift driver does not have to start 20 feet back or your self having to work with a large amount of excessive rope, both the drag hitch and axle knot can formed in a standing position up and away from the pallet or load when it has to be anchored low down or on the floor level or below so you do not have to work at a low back breaking position. The axle hitch is used if the centre block is missing or you need to tie to both sides of the fork truck to spread the weight so not breaking the front guard or you have to drag something behind the fork truck, this is a very old knot used back in the day before towing loops on cars and to secure a car the rope would be thrown over the two sides of a car's front axle and this would be repeated on the vehicle being used to tow the broken down car.
I have used the axle hitch to tie to two tie off points nearly 30 years ago on the fairground and running a double dolly (truckers hitch)from that in high winds... It never failed or collapsed.
It was originally finished with a bowline but I find a kalmyk knot makes it a little faster to tie and unite without compromising its security.
I have used a marlin spike hitch in the past to secure the axle hitch but then again I have used the marlin spike loop on its own to drag a pallet as tying with straps is a pain.

If you have used either of these I really hope you appreciate the simplicity of them and let me know your thoughts especially if you use my drag knot as this was born out of necessity by myself if you are going to share it at least leave me a comment on here
