The KKK Took My Baby Away (Covered by The Hawkbirds)

Описание к видео The KKK Took My Baby Away (Covered by The Hawkbirds)

The Hawkbirds covering The Ramones track, "The KKK Took My Baby Away".

The song, written by Joey Ramone, is on the 1981 album "Pleasant Dreams". There are a conflicting stories behind the meaning of the song, but ultimately, both Marky Ramone and Joey's brother, Mickey Leigh, confirm that the song is about a relationship between Joey and an African-American girl named Wilna. Supposedly, her parents objected to their daughter dating a Jewish man, and forbid her from seeing him.

This cover was recorded on 11/25/23 in our basement studio. This song was recorded on an iPhone 15 without any post mixing.

In honor of Thanksgiving, Brown Bear was joined by his friend Angelo, a rescued turkey. We would never eat Angelo or any other turkey. ❤️🧸🦃❤️
