Interview clip: Julia Retz on using malleable forms

Julia Retz (Campinas, São Paulo, 1987) uses malleable forms to expose the fragility and strength of monumental buildings, showing they're not just solid structures but representations of ideas. This approach criticizes the seemingly simple and immaculate spaces, revealing the underlying systems of oppression. "Malleable materials help uncover what's hidden behind these forms."

Julia Retz is part of Salta art's 2024 program and will be undertaking a residency at Ebenböckhaus, Munich from 7 October to 20 December, 2024.
