The body of a baby has been found in a snow-covered field in Greater Manchester.

The infant’s body was found next to the M61 motorway bridge in the Little Hulton area of Salford, Greater Manchester, police said.

Officers were called to Ravenscraig Road near Ashton’s Field, a disused colliery that has been turned into a green space, at about 1pm on Wednesday after a member of the public discovered the body.
