Movin' On Bass Cover

Happy 45th to Bad Company’s self titled, debut album which came out on this date in 1974!
The song is “Movin’ On” and features the late, great Raymond “Boz” Burrell on bass. He’s got a nice “chug” going on in this one.

Speaking of “chug”, our vacation is chugging along towards its eventual conclusion, but we’ve still got a couple of tricks up our sleeves. Tomorrow is our first show of the season at Bethel Woods. We’re taking Lynn’s Brother, Ted, to see The Royal Affair Tour which features YES, Asia, John Lodge (of The Moody Blues), and Carl Palmer’s ELP Legacy (featuring Arthur Brown on vocals). What a line-up! The weather is looking great and I’m looking forward to an enjoyable show. If Arthur Brown does “Fire” I might lose it! That guy is crazy.

On Friday we’re back down to the city to see “The Origin of Love - The Songs and Stories of Hedwig” at The Town Hall. I’m really not sure what sort of format this show is going to take but I’m sure it will be interesting. It started out as a one night event but they kept selling seats and it turned into 3 sold out shows. Somehow, I managed two front row seats at face value which I may wind up trading for a couple of aisle seats a bit further back. Most of the front row and loge seats were $500 VIP’s, all the proceeds of which are going to the Ali Forney Center, an organization committed to protecting homeless LGBTQ youth.

Then, a relaxing Saturday followed by tears on Sunday.

I’m playing the Guild B-302A which has since been converted into a B-301A. The neck pickup from this bass now resides in the Steinberger Synapse that I will get around to posting a cover with eventually.
