Описание к видео EP 26 The Human League - Being Boiled - Bass Cover (includes onscreen and downloadable tabs)

"Being Boiled" is a song by the British synthpop band The Human League. Composed by then-bandmembers Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh, with lyrics by Philip Oakey, it has been released several times since 1978, finally becoming a UK Top Ten hit in 1982.

In addition to the onscreen tab, PDF and Guitar Pro format copies are available here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vj0cmtvpeg...

The original bass part was recorded by Martyn Ware using a Korg 700s. The other sounds were generated using a Roland System 100 semi modular.

The bass part was recorded into Reason using my Ibanez SR500, into an ART DI box, then into a Steinberg UR44C interface and processed with rack extensions for a synth like tone as follows. Firstly it went into a compressor to even out the signal, into a Scream 4 for a fuzz sound then a MagmaSonic Classic filter in 12db low pass mode with the cutoff set to 1.37khz and resonance at 87.50% and finally the Quarter chorus rack extension to provide a little width and movement.

At the same time, the original signal was sent to a parallel channel with some compression and then mixed in to give some weight to the "synth" bass part

The video was filmed using a Samsung A41 smartphone. The tab was created using Go PlayAlong 4 and captured using NCH Debut. This was then composited and edited using DaVinci Resolve 16.

The video was recorded as two takes. In the first one, I made a big mistake at the start of the outro but seeing as the rest of the track was ok, I elected to have another take and then edit them together. I am in a slightly different postion during take two and I couldn't resist putting a caption up!
