Making a Selkie-Inspired Gown for $4!

Описание к видео Making a Selkie-Inspired Gown for $4!

Let's make a Selkie-inspired dress on a budget! While I love these dresses so much, the truth is that Selkie, like a lot of other slow fashion brands, are more of a fantasy than a reality for most of us regular folks. But we can still achieve that choice Cottagecore vibe in our everyday wardrobe using some equally environmentally-conscious, budget-saving techniques: our creativity, and our stash.

I don't know about you, but I've got a ton of fabric that I purchased on a whim because I loved it, and then never used it because I couldn't figure out what to do with it! In this video, I will take inspiration from Selkie and make my own puffy-sleeved floofy Cottagecore dream dress using fabric that I purchased literally 15 years ago and never quite knew what to do with!

This gown is inspired by an extant garment from the 1660's, because those sleeves are REALLY giving mid-17th century, y'all! Selkie can call them "Marie" gowns all they want, but those sleeves are way more Madame de Montespan than Madame de Pompadour.
