I discovered a place people lived hundreds of years ago metal detecting

These are the days I live for doing this. While out metal detecting and exploring an old farm in NH I stepped over a rock wall with my Fisher F19 metal detector on and was picking up a lot of nail iron in the ground. I started digging around and was finding nails, lots of them but new ones and really old square nails. With more detecting I started finding old metal buttons from the 1700s and 1800s as well as modern stuff. Turns out to be a double cabin site. One from what I am guessing would be just after 1800 and the other a mid 1900s hunting cabin. Finding old places like this to do some relic hunting is what we are always looking for but it does not happen everyday. You have to explore, read the land and listen to your metal detector. Discovering old places like this from the 1800s that has not been mapped is a major achievement and exciting.
