Fix Your Ring Alarm Sensor - Not Working (Easy Steps)

In this video I will show how I fixed a connection problem with a Ring Alarm sensor on a window. I had removed the device through the app a few days ago because it was not working when we tried to set our alarm. Since the battery appeared to be fine, I performed a reset of the device after I had physically removed the sensor from the window. A simple re-install through the app followed which put everything back in working order.

You can DIY many problems by some simple troubleshooting if a particular sensor with your Ring Alarm is not connecting as it should. If you are sure that it is within range of the system (using its own Z-Wave), then the battery is the next thing to check. Finally, resetting the device is one way that may solve the issue of it not working properly.

Note that you can arm your system by bypassing any sensors which are reporting that they are not closed. When you do, though, that particular sensor will not be armed with the alarm system, even after you close the window or door in question. In my case, I uninstalled the device through the app as a simple and quick fix the night we were having a problem. (The window in question is the room my dog sleeps in, so I wasn't too worried about anyone sneaking in.)
