PCCs Return To Philadelphia Streets! (First Run of PCC-III)

Описание к видео PCCs Return To Philadelphia Streets! (First Run of PCC-III)

PCCs Return To Philadelphia Streets. On Sunday, June 16, 2024, the Route 15 saw its first revenue trolley car operation in over 4 years. Trolley service on the SEPTA Route 15 was suspended on January 24, 2020 after officials expressed concern about the mechanical state of the fleet and the need to commence an extensive rebuilding process. But backing up further, on April 29, 2012, trolley service was suspended between Richmond & Westmoreland and Girard & Frankford for construction on Interstate 95. And further still, full Route 15 only operated from a little over 9 years with PCC-IIs, having also been suspended from September 12, 1992 to September 5, 2005. With 8 of the 18 PCC-III rebuilds of original 1947 Philadelphia PCC (Presidents' Conference Committee) Cars completed and more in progress, SEPTA has returned trolleys to the Route 15 as promised.
