The Senate Foreign Relations Committee will hold a hearing on evaluating U.S.-China policy in the era of extreme competition.

The hearing comes two days after President Joe Biden mentioned China's threats to sovereignty during his State of the Union address on Tuesday and after a House hearing on combatting China's economic threat.

The U.S. military last week also shot down a suspected Chinese spy balloon that traversed the country for several days.

Witnesses testifying at the hearing include: Wendy Sherman, deputy secretary of state, Department of State, and Ely Ratner, assistant secretary of defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs at the Department of Defense.
