In this video we cover a short tutorial of how to use our Cornelison Forming Pin & Mandrel Set for Bassoon to make Bassoon reed blanks from gouged, shaped, and profiled bassoon cane using the Herzberg shape (this process also works with other bassoon reed shapes). We also include sample reed dimensions for wire placement. We hope you find this short bassoon reed making tutorial helpful!

LC Double Reeds was founded in 2017 by oboist Xiaodi Liu and bassoonist Conrad Cornelison. Agonizing over the many years spent using overpriced tools with many design flaws, they decided to take matters into their own hands to create a business which would provide reasonably priced, thoughtfully designed reed-making tools designed with the professional player in mind.

Their first product to be released was their CHANG昌 Double Hollow Ground knife. With careful attention given to details such as balance, structure, ease of use, and visual appearance, the knives have quickly gained popularity and have been used in various professional orchestras across the United States.

We at LC Double Reeds are currently working on many exciting new projects that will soon be available for our customers. Stay tuned!
