In Episode 4 Mayor Jahns is dead and IT and Judicial are suggesting caution about how it’s reported to avoid unrest in the Silo. Through flashbacks to her childhood, we learn how Jules ended up in the Down Deep and more about what makes her tick. She gets a less-than-warm welcome to the Up Top where it seems all of her supporters are now dead. For only being 4 episodes into Silo Season 1 we've already seen the end of several character's stories.

Silo’s last episode showed that Juliette is more comfortable with machines than she is dealing with people. You also saw that she left that comfort zone behind. A life where she only had to focus on keeping the generator running and the purpose that gave her to go looking for answers about what really happened to George. It’s why Holston picked her and he expresses that through the message he left of her on his badge. He believed he could count on her to pursue the truth, and sending her that sign implies that he thinks there’s something worth looking for. That’s the most obvious place where this episode gets its name, but it applies to almost everything else that happens here. You get the truth about what happened when she was a child before she went to work in mechanical. You see how the people in power try to control information and reserve the truth on a need-to-know basis. And you see that what you know can be dangerous regardless of your position in things.

Silo is the new Apple TV+ sci-fi series based on the Silo book series by Hugh Howey. The third episode explores the character Jules and the politics inside the Silo. It ends in tragedy when Marnes discovers the Mayor dying in her bathroom.

The Silo is an underground world where the last 10,000 people on Earth live to stay safe from the toxic environment on the surface. The inhabitants aren’t aware of how it got there or why things are the way they are because a rebellion 140 destroyed their histories. Things take a turn when the Sheriff's wife starts asking questions and eventually asks to go outside. This is the cardinal rule of the Silo. Any spoken request to leave the Silo is granted, but it’s irrevocable, once uttered it’s determinative, in other words, it’s a death sentence.
