How We Prepared For Monster Cat 4 Hurricane Helene At Camp Faraway.

An exhausting week dealing with the potential direct hit of Hurricane Helene on the Forgotten Coast of Florida, a category 4 storm that simply devastated a large portion of the West Florida coastline and the Big Bend area. We had just a couple of days to move what we could west, including our two boats and find a safe zone in Pensacola to ride out the storm. Fifteen hours of driving back and forth over a two-day period left me ragged and exhausted, but it was what we had to do to try and save what we could for the predicted 15-20ft. storm surge and 130-150mph winds for our area. Hopefully this video helps you understand the importance of getting prepared early and the difficult decisions you will have to make if confronted with a similar scenario.
