Galaxy DX98VHP, 10m possibilities with this gem, quite surprised, it's not just a high power cb.

Galaxy dx98vhp, previously owned by a customer and friend who passed away, unfortunately it had been involved in a huge burn up in the RF stage which is not uncommon with these extremely high power radios that offer very little fold back protection if antennas are not kept in check. The board rebuild on this radio due to some heavily charcoals areas has kept me busy for a few months on and off as we just kept needing more parts, they really do go up in smoke when things go bad. We also fixed a nasty audio fault which was due to exploding rf bits that melted a track in the audio path. However, she's a goer again and heading back to a mate who was bequeathed this radio and will treasure it as a lasting memory of a great radio operator who passed last year.
