Can you overwinter peppers / Does pruning give you smaller fruit?

Описание к видео Can you overwinter peppers / Does pruning give you smaller fruit?

Well, it's mid-August and we have a greenhouse absolutely full of ripe bell peppers. Time to look at our highly unscientific experiment to see if pruning the young plants affects the production and harvests. So we were told that pruning plants mean you get more peppers but they are smaller and not as good quality.

We've put this to the test this season.
Obviously, it's not the end of the season yet but we are sufficiently late in the year with plenty of info that I think we can happily draw conclusions. We checked the amount of fruit produced, the size of fruit, and the thickness of the flesh. Three variables - pruned, not-pruned, and overwintered. Which performed best? In our opinion, the pruned pepper plants were heaps better than the others.

What did we do with all those peppers? We froze a heap and we made a huge batch of our favourite soup for the freezer. Recipe: https://eliandkate.com/tomato-and-red...
