Hazel is back and this time she is showing us two very traditional recipes that are normally made during the upcoming auspicious month. The first is Koikutta/Kolkutta that is a sweet steam rice flour recipe and the second is woorandai which is a basically a goolgoola stuffed with green/mung dhal and sesame seed and desiccated coconut!

Ingredients
Koikutta/Kolkutta
2 cups rice flour
100g butter
1/6 cup sugar
1/2 cup desiccated coconut
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1 tsp elaichi (cardamom) powder
1 can condensed milk - use as required

Woorandai
For the filling
2 cups green (moong) dhal, boiled soft
1/2 cup desiccated coconut
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/2 cup of sugar

For the woorandai dough
2 tsp baking powder
2 cups cake flour
1 1/3 cup milk - use as required
1/2 cup sugar
