The drum set is as original and complete as it is possible to get, and in what can be described as very good condition. All hardware is complete and in very good cosmetic and technical condition, as is the external wrap in Blue Oyster. A small faint mark on the bass drum wrap, down the side, otherwise in almost "mint condition".
For the purist, it is worth mentioning that the bass drum's tom holder and the snare drum stand have a new Ludwig wing screw in chrome and not the original screws with a plastic head. The legs of the bass drum and the floor snare have new and larger rubber feet. Beyond this, absolutely all parts are original from 1976!

The set for sale here was produced at Ludwig's factory in Chicago in 1976. The set has 3 ply maple shell with reinforcement rings which means that they have retained their round shape and thus far more attractive than previous models which tended to be un-round, with added challenges.

New skins have been fitted to the entire set, tuned up and ready for the studio or on stage.
The bass drum has a Remo Ambassador Smooth White front skin with a contemporary Ludwig logo. On the kick side, the bass drum has been given a Remo Powerstroke 3 Coated skin, which gives a rich sound with lots of attack and volume.
On the toms Remo Controlled Sound Coated heads for a controlled and full sound, while the resonance heads are of the Remo Renaissance Diplomat type for an open tone.
