Explained the need and design of custom IDOC. Described the design by converting the business data as example. Showed the steps like segment creation, basic IDOC type creation and include segments with properties, message type creation and map basic IDOC type - in both source and target system.

Finally add the custom message type in the source system partner profile, and for partner showed the FM, process code and message type in the partner profile.

Showed full cycle of IDOC generation from source and the data update in the target system as well.
