Naks Wan Rutu Ala Kondre Dance

Описание к видео Naks Wan Rutu Ala Kondre Dance

This is an Ala Kondre dance from the Afro-Surinamese group Naks Wan Rutu. They dance and sing about different Winti. Winti is the Afro-Surinamese religion in Suriname, just like Orisha, Candomble etc is to the Caribbean. In this piece they perform the Leba dance. Leba is almost similar to Elegua or Elegba. Then follows the Fodu or Snake dance. Then you have the Yaw Kromanti (almost similar to Obatala, he wears white) and Opete (Vulture)...the last part is the dance of the different Obeah's.
