Ben Macdui (Scottish Gaelic: Beinn MacDuibh, meaning "MacDuff's mountain") is the second-highest mountain (1309 m) in Scotland and all of the British Isles, after Ben Nevis (1345 m), and the highest of the Cairngorm Mountains. Ben Macdui is in the centre of the arctic-like Cairngorms plateau - a much wilder place than Ben Nevis.

The route starts from the Cairngorm Ski Centre Aviemore, takes about 18 km with 900 m elevation, passing through Cairngorm 1245 m (the 7th higehst mountain in UK). Within 6 hours you could be back at the parking. Yeah, so could´ve I...

This day, 31. August 2022, I was blessed with a great hot sunny weather and not many people around which means I could´ve taken lots of pictures and selfie-videos. I was offered breathtaking views, beautiful sceneries and blue sky.

To be honest, any time I´ve been in Scotland, the weather´s been kind to me too. Just a bit of rain in cities made me to sit in local pubs and get known the locals... with a sip of local beer...

However, as usually I´ve left a piece of my heart in this rough land calling Caledonia too...
