Live music and wild fun with The Muffs at Record Surplus in Los Angeles, August 16, 2014. The Muffs performed tunes from their brand new album, "Whoop De Doo," their first album of new material in ten years. Made up of Kim Shattuck (lead vocals & guitar), Ronnie Barnett (bass & backing vocals) and Roy McDonald (drums), the band formed in Los Angeles in 1990. Previously they released five critically acclaimed albums: The Muffs, Blonder & Blonder, Happy Birthday To Me, Alert Today, Alive Tomorrow and Really, Really Happy. The Muffs’ catchy pop-punk tunes have gained a wide following of loyal fans, and have been featured in commercials, TV shows, and over a dozen film soundtracks, most notably their cover of “Kids in America” on the Clueless soundtrack. In the recent past the band has been busy touring around the world and appearing in the Rock Band video game series. Additionally, Kim did a stint with The Pixies in 2013, Roy reunited with his former band Redd Kross for their Researching The Blues album in 2012, and Ronnie has been part of the team at Record Surplus since 2013.
