Kala chana masala recipe - kolkata style | chickpeas recipe 🌿

Black chana used to be my ultimate favourite back thn… though they still are. My mom used to make it every Saturday and instead of roti or parantha, we used to have it with bread. And I still love it like that only!

Recently I’ve had different type of black chana. So this is my take on the famous black chana I’ve had in Calcutta - kwality restaurant.

Let’s see the ingredients first -

2 cups big black chana (chickpeas)
1-1.5 tsp salt
1 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp anardana powder (pomegranate seeds powder)
1 black cardamom

2 medium sized onion, sliced
3-4 geeen chillies, slit
An inch of ginger, in julienne
2 boiled potatoes, diced
2 tomato, cut into big cubes
2 tsp oil to cook, 1 tsp oil or ghee to pour over
Coriander leaves to garnish
