Pidi Kozhukattai is usually found in South Indian Hindu homes during Vinayaka Chaturthi which is a festival in honour of Lord Ganesha. This is a traditional rice based sweet , mixed with other ingredients. Since it is steamed, it is a very good healthy snack. My version is a bit different as I have added a lot of ingredients to perk the taste. Enjoy !! Do watch, try this recipe and share your feedback.
Recipe :-
Ingredients :-

Rice Flour - 1 cup
Jaggery - 3/4 cup
Water - 1.5 cups
Ghee - 2 tsp
Cashew nut (chopped) - 2 tbsp.
Golden Raisins - 2 tsp.
Sesame Seeds - 2 tsp.
Cardamom Powder - 1/2 tsp.
Coconut - 1/4 cup
Mung Dhal (half cooked) - 2 tbsp.
Salt - a pinch
Heat pan and add in the ghee 1 tsp. Add in cashew nuts and raisin. Once browned add in the sesame seeds and cardamom powder. Then add in the half cooked mung dhal , stir until aroma is released. Then add in the chopped coconut slices and stir a while before adding in the rice flour. Stir until the flour is warm on low flame.
Boil the jaggery with 1.5 cups water. Once jaggery melts and starts to boil strain it and add it in the rice flour mix and combine it. Add in ghee 1 tsp. stir until flour does not stick to your hands.
Cool for 5 mins. Once slightly warm, make the pidi kozhukattai and steam it for 10 mins.
Pidi Kozhuttai is ready to serve and enjoy it as a nice evening snack.
