[Finite Element 8] Transient heat transfer (diffusion) simulation in Elmer Multiphysics

Описание к видео [Finite Element 8] Transient heat transfer (diffusion) simulation in Elmer Multiphysics

Are the programs that we discussed so far, in which we needed to implement the finite element formulation of the problem using a sort of programming, the only available options in the world of open-source finite element modeling? Of course not. There are currently a bunch of open-source solvers available that are being accompanied by a graphical user interface (GUI). This is actually similar to the way that well-known programs like Abaqus, ANSYS, or COMSOL work: a GUI that helps you set up your simulation and then asks a background solver to run it. In this video, we will have a look at such a program, Elmer Multiphysics, a powerful finite element analysis program with a wide range of pre-built models and an easy-to-use GUI.

Codes, models, and resources:
In order to follow the videos and reproduce the output, you may want to use the ready codes and models instead of creating them from scratch using the instructions from previous videos. You can find all the relevant stuff, grouped for different episodes at http://tuxriders.com/videos/finite-el... and https://github.com/TuxRiders/finite-e...

You can see the rest of the episodes of the finite element series here:    • Introduction to finite element modeling

Applied numerical computing series, in which the underlying theories of these videos are discussed:    • Introduction to applied numerical mod...

Topics covered:
