Newark City Subway - Last Day of PCC cars in 2001

Описание к видео Newark City Subway - Last Day of PCC cars in 2001

The entire fleet of the Newark City subway, operated by NJ Transit, was composed of PCC cars. You can check Wikipedia for all the details. The cars will all withdrawn and replaced with modern LRV vehicles. If this seems old and funky now, it seemed just that way to us all the way back to the 1970s. It was so weird that these things ran anywhere near the big apple, where trolleys had been eradicated by the mid 1950s.
